BIRRELL STREET
Working closely with the clients on creating the concept for their home on the coast, Studio Ricono drew inspiration from the minimalist, warm aesthetic of Scandinavian design. Through thoughtful reconfiguration of the existing layout, a seamless flow between private and open spaces was achieved. The interior palette features light and textural materials comprising travertine tiles, natural stone slabs and timber joinery.
A strong visual dialogue is created upon entry via timber panelling, some of which act as hidden doors to the WC and laundry. Being located on the ground floor of a multi-storey apartment building, sliding doors were added to all bedrooms in order to draw in light and further connect the interiors to the natural world outside.
The result is a relaxing, inviting home, where this family of 5 can enjoy quality time both together and apart.
